Exeter University Liberal Democrat Society is hosting an informal discussion on the upcoming EU referendum as part of Freshers' Week.

They will be joined for this exploration of one of the most controversial political topic by Adrian Sanders who served as Liberal Democrat MP for Torbay from 1997 to 2015. Following the 2001 election Adrian Sanders was Liberal Democrat spokesman for Tourism and subsequently moved to the position of Liberal Democrat Deputy Chief Whip in Parliament.

In October 2011, he was the only Lib Dem MP to vote in favour a referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union, despite being a supporter of the EU, as he believed it was "a liberal principle to trust the people".

Regardless of your experience or knowledge of the EU, do feel free to attend and join the discussion!'
