Exeter Liberal Democrats have announced their candidate for the forthcoming City Council by-election in Newtown & St Leonards ward.
Vanessa Newcombe, a prominent local campaigner has been chosen to fight the seat. Vanessa has 7 years experience on both Exeter City Council and Devon County Council, with a strong reputation for championing young people and working on health and adult services.
Vanessa played an integral part in getting the Haven Bankes Outdoor Education Centre built on Exeter Quayside.
As a governor at various schools, Vanessa is concerned about school funding for the future.
Vanessa is pledging to focus on issues in the ward and to hold the Labour Council to account for it's expensive fiasco on the bus station scheme in Exeter City Centre.
