People's March (Eleanor Rylance)A significant group of LibDems from all the South West made their way to London on Saturday, some setting off before 6am on the coaches arranged by Devon for Europe, to take part in one of the biggest, most peaceful, colourful and purposeful demonstrations London has ever seen. We were clapped and congratulated by passers-by despite crowding that must have been a tad inconvenient for them at times!

People's March (Eleanor Rylance)

We were marching to call for a People's Vote on the final terms of the deal negotiated with the EU. Special thanks must go out to police forces from all the country, who sent officers to ensure our safety. Estimates of numbers range from 100,00 to 500,000. We would also like to thank all the inspirational speakers including, amongst many others from all kinds of organisation, Vince Cable, Gina Miller and Caroline Lucas, and Britain for Europe for the huge feat of organisation. Even the weather was outstanding.

If you were not able to go, don't worry, firstly because we marched with all of those who could not in our hearts, and secondly because you still have a chance to do your bit.

People's Vote is askig for signatures in a petition requesting a vote on the final deal negotiatied. You can sign this petition by clicking here. It takes seconds, and you'd be adding your name to those of a great many other people (150,000 at the time of writing).

There's an opinion piece in the Independent today by Catherine Bearder, about how embarrassing she finds negotiating Brexit arrangements alongside UK government people who appear to know very little about the EU.
