Sean Ritchie leaflet

"A champion for our local community - with realistic, practical solutions for our future."

A local candidate
Sean lives with his wife and family in the Upper Culm Ward. His children have been educated locally. He knows the issues the area faces, he's faced them himself.
A member of Hemyock Parish Council
Sean is Vice Chair of Hemyock Parish Council, and very active in all Parish issues.
A champion of rural communities
Sean knows that rural hamlets and villages have their own unique character. He knows that that character can easily be lost through ill advised overdevelopment. He's a champion for improving our communities but not in development for developments' sake.
A proven track record of delivering for local people
Sean has championed, project managed and delivered the development of the new play area in Hemyock. Having successfully delivered this he is now managing the total upgrade of the 'trim trail' at the Longmead sports facility.
A local businessman
Sean runs his own local construction business. He knows it is tough running a rural business, where distance to customers and lack of facilities (such as hi-speed broadband) create unique challenges. Sean knows that local communities need a thriving economy if they are to keep their young people and not lose them to the towns and cities.
An ambitious vision
Sean believes communities are their children. So he is working on setting up a skateboard park in Hemyock to give children a safe (and exciting) place to play.
A pioneer of sustainable technologies
Sean is a UK pioneer in the use of sustainable technologies in renovating older properties. He has practical solutions for the 'green revolution' and the energy efficient homes we need.
A practical vision for a greener future
As well as pioneering greener construction, Sean knows that small incremental steps can make the difference in tackling the climate crisis. Together with his wife he has introduced the used of recyclable cartons in the production of school meals, significantly reducing waste disposal of packaging.

"The UK is a world-beating innovator. I know we can develop the solutions to tackle the climate crisis, and deliver economic growth and a better legacy for our children."
